Because You're Worth It explores the present-day Western obsession with commoditised
perfection through photographs that illustrate the desire to attain idealised
beauty. The images address where these ideals of beauty are born, the
extremes undertaken to achieve perfection, and consequently the effects
upon the self. They subversively manipulate the visual language of fashion
and advertising photography to critique the standards of beauty that they
promote. Removed from their expected context, the poses further comment
upon the construction of beauty and femininity.
